TRACK 1

Presentation 1 - Take Control of Windows 10 so you really do have a better, safer, somewhat private computing experience. Elliott Stern, The PC Maestro
Window 10 is a reasonably good operating system but Microsoft’s attitude on privacy settings leaves a lot to be desired. The privacy policy may be more about the lack of it, designed to help you get a better computing experience.

Elliott Stern, The Computer Maestro, is known for "Perfecting Your Computer Backup-The Art of Backup.' In this session he shows how to manage Windows 10 privacy settings and more.

Presentation 2 - How Technology Has Changed the Way We Listen to Music
Ray Baxter, President, Payson Area Computer Association; APCUG Treasurer

This is a two-part presentation: a quick review of our music listening habits during the last 65 years and a look at today’s download and streaming offerings. From 78s to 45s, LPs, the 8-track tape, cassettes, the Walkman, Compact Discs, iPods and more – Ray will cover it all.

Ray considers himself an early Rock and Roll historian and his a digital collection of over 45,000 songs that began when he first started collecting records (most of which he still has) in his pre-teenage years. When living in California, he was the President of the Doo-Wop Society of Southern California, a non-profit organization that for almost 14 years produced live quarterly musical stage shows featuring vocal groups of the 1950s.

Presentation 3 - Digital Scrapbooking with Ann Knutson
Secretary & Instructor, Computer Club of Oklahoma City

This presentation will show you how easy it is to do scrapbooking using your computer = digital scrapbooking. Ann will explore a fun way to create scrapbooks of family vacations, old family photos or special events in your grandchildren’s lives.

TRACK 2

Presentation 1 - Facebook: Friend or Foe
Diane McKeever CPP, Author, 100 Amazing Computer Tips

Have you found that your Facebook experience is getting worse and worse because your friends are playing, and reporting on, more games? Or that you're seeing more ads about things you're not interested in? Or that you're missing updates from people you really need to keep up with? Well, you need to know that you have so many options that will change the way you view your friends’ updates that you'll look forward to checking your Facebook every day...really.

Presentation 2 - Your Laptop’s Midlife Crisis – How to Help It Cope, PART 3, Adding USB 3.0
Greg Skalka, President, Under the Computer Hood User Group

Is your laptop still fairly fast? Has a good operating system? Appear to be reliable? You might want to think about adding more RAM, a larger hard drive and/or solid state drive, and faster interface. Greg showed us how to add more RAM in Part 1 and a larger hard drive or SSD in Part 2. Part 3 covers installing a faster interface: USB3.

Presentation 3 - Favorite Utilities
Judy Taylour, President, SCV Computer Club

Utility programs are small apps that can help you and your computer perform better. We all have our favorites although some don’t use utilities at all; they prefer to only use the Windows OS utilities. Judy will share what, over time, have become some of her favorite utilities. Please add your favorite utilities via the Chat window and they will be sent to all of this presentation’s attendees (don’t forget to add your user group name).
